Hope Chest Thrift Stores
The Hope Chest Thrift Stores celebrated its 30th Anniversary throughout 2023 and continues to be an integral part of the community for shoppers to find quality used goods at a great value. While we are thankful to be part of such a giving community, donations continue to be in high demand. Our stores need gently used clothing, housewares, jewelry, books, furniture, shoes as well as other household items. Proceeds generated are used to support the patients, families, and programs offered by Community Hospice & Health Services.
The new online Hope Chest Thrift Store lists fun treasures that are available for local pick up as well as shipping options throughout the United States. Check out our online store by visiting, hopechesthrift.org.
In 2023, our Hope Chest Thrift Stores collectively generated $6,336,378; this is a 2.5% increase over revenue generated in 2022. Just over 4.3% of the 2023 gross revenues come from our recycling program.
In a continued effort to assist with keeping unnecessary items out of our local landfills, the Hope Chest Thrift Stores recycle as many unsellable items as possible. In 2023, 32,603 pounds of E-Waste along with 1,238,144 pounds of unsellable clothing and over 113,797 pounds of reprocessed items such as shoes, books, cardboard, and metal were recycled through our Logistics Center. These initiatives continue to divert items from local area landfills, lowering disposal costs and generating additional revenue to support the mission of Community Hospice & Health Services.
